Our hardwood flooring in the living room is coming along nicely! We are living with piles of furniture in various rooms of our house but it will be so worth it when it’s done.
We tore up the carpet and had to put down a new subfloor. Of course, in an old house the floors are uneven so hubby had some work to do to level things out as much as possible. And it hardly squeaks anymore!
Today the hardwood is going down. We hired a lady who works for us to lay it as it is a specialty of hers.
As I type she has about 4 feet down and it looks so great! A few more days to go with sanding and finishing and then I paint the walls.
We are also planning on doing some work on our cabin which will include some new tile in the bathroom. We are going to take out the bathtub and create a built in shower with this river rock on the floor. I’ve always admired this look and I’m excited that we are going to use it. The larger tiles in the photo are what is already in the bathroom.
We also need to replace the 30 year old vanity and the one we are looking at has legs on the bottom. So we need to come up with a tile solution underneath. We are going to use a mosaic tile and these 2×2 tiles to create the look of a rug. Hope it looks as good in reality as it does in my head!
