First of all, I just wanted to say a thank you to Grace for identifying the dogwood blooms I had posted a picture of last week. They are stunning!
Now on to our trip. We left Sundre around 5:00 p.m. on May 1st. I babysat for the day and Les had to work so it was a late start. We decided to get a few hours of driving in so that Friday wouldn’t be as long. We had heard differing opinions on the quickest way to Osoyoos so we decided to go the southern route on the way there and along the TransCanada on the way back. The Rockies are always amazing and the day we left they almost looked like a black and white photo.
Our stop the first night was a campground at Radium Hot Springs which we have used before. It is a really pretty place but a little tight when trying to maneuver a trailer. We woke up to good weather and green grass and were on the road in good time. It was a beautiful day for a drive and I have to admit that I sent this temperature photo to our poor kids who were suffering in a snow storm.
The drive was long and I passed some of the time taking photos with my phone and editing them. And if you can get some interesting shots so much the better.
We drove past Christina Lake but had to stop for a stretch and some photos. It really is a beautiful location.
When we got to Osoyoos, we set up camp quickly and hopped on the bike for a drive. We ended up in Penticton where we had supper and soaked in the warmth of the day. On the way back the sun was setting and though I was taking pictures with my phone and not my “good” camera you can still see how beautiful it was.
We found a great photo opportunity the next day and I can’t wait to share the pictures!
