The foundation for the patio has been laid and now the paving stones can be laid.
We used pavers that came in an assortment of 4 different shapes. Les laid them in a random pattern, fitting them together like a puzzle.
He used a wet saw to cut the ones on the edge.
Once the pavers were laid the spaces could be filled with sand. We didn’t get the chance to do that until this year though.
Les spread the sand across the patio and let it fill the spaces.
Then, if I remember right, he wet it down. The sand he used becomes hard which won’t let things grow in between the stones as easily. It can be worn down by water from something like a pressure washer though.
I love the finished result. It was a big job but it looks great!
