We are busy harvesting our small vegetable garden before winter comes. Potatoes have been dug and packed away in a cold spot in our garage. Onions have been braided and hung. Our tomatoes were picked before the frost and are sitting under newspaper slowly turning red. The garlic looks like it didn’t form bulbs so we will need to open them up and see if there is something to save.
I dug up the carrots yesterday and I thought I would share because they aren’t your typical carrots.
Aren’t they pretty? Les is the vegetable gardener in our family and he decided this year to plant carrot seeds that produce all these different colours.
The red ones are actually orange inside.
Aren’t they wonderful? They still taste like a regular carrot and we enjoyed some raw for supper.
