Today, I thought I would give you a little update on our house renovation. I like to call it a sun porch.
Les has been working hard to get the concrete pad poured before winter. He felt he needed to get the base of the project completed and then the snow can fly for the rest of it. All of the stucco has been knocked off to allow us to add foam insulation and siding.
We hit an unexpected amount of black dirt under the old deck that had to be dug out and replaced with gravel. We live on an old riverbed so rock is what we usually find here. Once the gravel was tamped down he put the forms in place.
We are going to have a heated floor in the sun porch so the insulation and pipe needed to go in before the pour of concrete. It was a late night for him to get it done before the truck came the next morning.
The concrete arrived right on time the next morning and it didn’t take long at all. I’m grateful to be married to someone who knows how to do this kind of stuff!
He had to take a row of pavers out of the patio to form up the pad but when it had dried he put them back in place.
Next up will be the walls and roof.
