On day 18 of our trip, we headed north to Lava Hot Springs, Idaho. We have stopped there a couple of other times and have found that it is a good place to camp to break up the trip. We were the only ones in the campground and it was stunning. The leaves were the perfect shade of gold and there was a little creek right beside our campsite. While Les set up, I must confess that I was busy snapping photos.
We walked over to the hot springs and had a soak after we were set up. There are 6 different pools to choose from in the facility and we usually are in the coolest one – which is still hot to me!
The last two days of the trip were spent travelling. From Lava Hot Springs we drove to Great Falls, Montana for the last night of our trip. Then home the next day.
I hope you enjoyed the story of our trip to the USA this fall. We are already making plans for the next one, perhaps camping closer to one location and exploring from there. We will see when the time comes.
