Day 32 saw us heading out of Tennessee and into Arkansas. An accident on the highway caused a traffic jam for quite awhile so we didn’t reach our campground in Russellville until later in the day.
On day 33 we headed out on the bike to explore the countryside north of our campground. The area is very pretty but had many little towns which slowed our progress. I do wish we would have had time to explore a few of the antique and vintage shops we passed by!
One of the stops we did make was at the Buffalo National River. This area has seen flooding over the years with the river rising from 3 feet deep to 49 feet! Yikes!
We took a different route back to Russellville and enjoyed the ride much more. The road was full of curves, which makes for an enjoyable ride. We drove through the Ozark National Forest and as you can see the views were amazing.
Day 34 was a trip south.
Our destination was the city of Hot Springs. We walked along Bathhouse Row where spa after spa are located. We found the area to be interesting but kind of shabby.
We had lunch and then headed back to the campground, this time driving back though more farmland.
One of the highlights of this day was going out for supper at the Old Post BBQ. It looked like a place that the locals go to for supper and it was delicious! We also spent a good part of the evening chatting with a couple who live in the area. It’s funny because I am not a social person, but there is something about meeting people on the road and finding out their perspective that is so wonderful!
There are only a few days left on this trip!
