I have to confess that I have not been as diligent in my flower gardens as I should have been this year. Something always seems to take priority over getting out to weed. And the rain we have had in Alberta this summer has made it even less inspiring.
But I still have had some beautiful blooms.
My peonies are in a shady garden but they still produced some perfect blooms.
My cutting garden is a disaster in places, but the dahlias are going nuts! A few of the plants even froze in the spring and are now back and thriving. This is one from a plant that my niece gave me and I thought I had lost. It’s a beauty!
And the poppies are just starting. This is the first one but the plants are loaded with buds! I hope there are some pastel varieties as I find red is always hard to photograph.
It seems to me that everything is blooming later this year so hopefully the frost will hold off as well!
