A Couple of Yard Projects
I have a couple of projects that I would like to do over the next week or so. It seems like it always takes me awhile to go from inspiration to completion.
The first is one of the projects from a Facebook post that is circulating. It has 51 summer ideas. You’ve probably seen it. Quite a few of them caught my eye but the one I would like to do right away is the foot washing station.
It involves putting smooth stones in a box to wash your feet after yard work. Over the summer my feet take a beating and I think this would be a great way to wash off the dirt and provide a bit of a massage before I head inside. I have some black and white stones now so I just have to figure out where and how to construct it.
The other project is to make a planter out of this old saucepan from my mom.
She used it in our trailer when I was a kid and it sat there for many years.
It is aluminum (which makes me wonder how healthy it was) and I think it will be interesting as a pot for succulents or something like that. I should be able to drill a hole in the bottom and then pop in a plant or two.
I’ll have to find a way to keep the lid with it. I really like the colour of it.
I have a coffee pot planted that way which I shared with you last year.
It makes yard work so much more enjoyable when you can do something fun in between mowing and weeding and I think these two projects will do that quite nicely!

many of us grew up eating food cooked in aluminum pots, makes me wonder too
