Shuswap Vacation Part 1

We went houseboating for a week in July this year.  It is one of our favorite ways to holiday.  There are few things like waking up in the morning and being on the water.  But the beginning of our trip was a little rocky.  We blew a tire right before the Banff Park gates and had to cross several lanes of traffic to get to a pullout.

But the whole thing was a miracle because there was a gap in the summer traffic and we were able to easily pull across.  And the whole repair, including heading into Canmore to get it fixed, took just an hour of our time.  Crazy eh?  God is good!

We had booked a preboard so we could spend the night on the houseboat before our trip began.  We decided we had enough time to get out on the lake to beach someplace.  It was a rush to get there before it got too dark to be safe.

But the view the next morning was worth it.

Sicamous was doing its annual antique boat show that day so we hopped in our boat and drove back to see it.

We attended once before and always enjoy the checking out the wood boats.  They are so beautiful when they are maintained well.  I wouldn’t want to have to do it though!

There were also a few old vehicles parked outside of the show which were fun to look at and admire.

It was a fun way to spend the morning with this handsome guy!
