Besides putting up old fashioned Christmas lights, I kept things pretty simple outside this year. My best inspiration was to hang some faux pine garland from our outside lights. I was trying to figure out a way to attach hooks to the siding when it hit me. Drape it over the lights! I really like how it puddles a bit on the ground.
I filled my urns much like I did last year. Fresh cedar and then a mixture of faux greenery.
My Dad’s skates sit on one corner of the bench with my son’s log Santa right beside.
On the other side I have a willow wreath and a basket of branches from pruning our tree.
I just realized now that I also made a couple of spruce bough wreaths that I hung on our fence but I forgot to take photos of them. Oops!
I wish all of you a warm and merry Christmas. And I pray that somehow, at some point, we all see beyond the stuff of this season and see the baby who came to save the world.
