Studio Needs

I have a new understanding of why studio spaces often look messy.  I have been taking courses in a variety of painting styles and a variety of mediums.  Each course requires a few new supplies and they need to have a home.  I have also found that I really like having the supplies easily available by being where I can see them.

Over the last few days I have been thinking about this dresser I have in my studio space.  I love the colour and the storage but it didn’t provide the surface that I wanted.

We have had a table in our living room that was more in line with what I imagined, so today I decided to make the switch.  It can always go back if I don’t like it, right?

This is how it now looks in the living room.  It looks a little busy to my eye but I can tweak that over the next few days.  Especially house cleaning day.  I don’t know what it is about cleaning, but I end up rearranging and finding homes for things when I do it.

The studio now has a surface with more potential storage underneath.   I think it will work much better.

And do you remember this canvas that I put leftover oil paint on?

Here it is now.  I think it is going to be a landscape with a church.  In kind of an abstract style.  But who knows?
