A Rainy Day in Sundre and Area
I live just outside of the small Alberta town of Sundre. I moved here with my family when I was 11. I am crazy about this town! I love to travel but I am always happy to come back to my hometown.
Sundre is surrounded by several smaller communities, some with a general store, some with a community center, some with both. Bergen and Bearberry are two of those communities. The former is southwest of Sundre and the latter is northwest.
I am a fan of the vintage and gently worn style of decorating. I made these signs for sale in our store to look like they were salvaged from someone’s old stash of shabby treasures. I make them out of 1×4 hemlock, sanded, painted, stenciled and sanded again. I finish off with a rubbed on coat of stain and then wax.
I planned to photograph them outside today but the rain is steadily coming down. I hope everyone in this area is staying warm and dry!

Jodi wished to order one with James River on it. How much? 🙂 (Seriously)
To do a custom word I would add $5 to the price because I have to cut a stencil. So that would bring the price to $18.99 (plus GST). A custom colour would add to the price as well. I only do the rustic look right now. They are in the General Store if you want to take a look in person. Thanks for asking and let me if you want to go ahead.
